Education is the top priority at the International Executive Housekeepers Association, Inc. (IEHA). Five special designations offered by IEHA provide recognition by your employer and peers when you reach education milestones. They are Certified Environmental Services Specialist (CESS), Certified Environmental Service Executive (CESE) Registered Environmental Service Executive (RESE), Master Environmental Service Registered Executive (MESRE) and Master Environmental Service Certified Executive (MESCE). Each designation allows those who see your name to know you have reached milestones of achievement recognized by your professional peers.
In addition to the designations listed above, IEHA also offers continuing education for all member and nonmembers through its Professional Education Credentialing Program (PECP), Environmental Sustainability Professional Program (ESP), Certified Perioperative Cleaning Specialist Program (CPCS) and IEHA-hosted or sponsored seminars and workshops offered globally.
The Registered Environmental Services Executive designation may be attained by members or nonmembers by successfully completing the 11 modules contained within the Technical and Administrative Series, along with the 5 modules in the Managing for Effect Series from IEHA's PECP program. Candidates can take the PECP program online non instructor-led or onsite with an IEHA certified instructor.
What is the PECP?
IEHA’s Professional Education Credentialing Program (PECP), the top credentialing and certification program for professional cleaners. Individuals who participate in the PECP will be able to immediately apply newly learned skills, ask questions, reference real world examples and institute proven best practices. This has a positive outcome for the individual, their peers and the facilities they represent. The PECP course helps participants to learn strategies for effective communication and management and understand the science behind cleaning.

Candidates must also supply a copy of their bachelor’s degree or higher along with their official college transcripts prior to scheduling their 100-115 question comprehensive online proctored exam or115-125 question comprehensive exam if taken in a boot camp format. Once enrolled, RESE candidates have 365 days to complete the program online only, or are assessed a $300 fee. In addition, should you not successfully pass your final exam with a score of 80% or higher, there is a 30-day wait period before you can retake final exam along with the assessed fees mentioned above. PECP candidates will not be provided with incorrect responses from failed exams.
PECP participants that do not hold a masters degree from a university will be required to take an IEHA required prerequiste course before taking the course online, onsite or virtually.
Renewal and Maintenance Requirements: Individuals who hold the designation of RESE are required to pay yearly RESE membership dues AND are required to physically renew their designation every year on or before May 31st. RESE members have the option of renewing their designation by submitting 15 hours of continuing education or electing to retake the online proctored exam.
If at any time a RESE member's dues lapse, or they do not renew their designation by CEU submittal or testing, regardless of paying the appropriate yearly dues, their designation is no longer valid. To reinstate the designation, RESE candidates must submit a reinstatement fee of $699, along with any additional applicable renewal requirements that previously were not met. Yearly renewal of their IEHA membership at the RESE designation holder rate of $219.
Renewal of the actual designation is required annually; designation holders have the option of submitting 16-hours of CEUs or completing an online proctored exam.

Just as a master's degree is an academic recognition granted to persons that have undergone a course of study showing mastery of a specific field of professional practice or study, IEHA's Master's Program is for IEHA’s elite members committed to continuous improvement and propagating professionalism.
Through a reciprocal arrangement, IEHA will work with Master designation holders in order to benefit themselves and all IEHA members by promoting the collective knowledge of these most experienced and accomplished members of IEHA through educational initiatives and mentorship.
Interested MESRE and MESCE members wishing to pursue this additional designation must meet the following requirements:
The IEHA Executive Director will review all submitted materials within 21 days, and make an official recommendation for qualified members. Members will then be allowed the use “Master” within their professional title. An official letter of introduction will be printed in Cleaning Maintenance Magazine and posted on IEHA website. You may also accomplish Master designation by going through a 3 day intensive training course (IEHA Masters Boot Camp) Members must maintain their MESRE or MESCE designation as required to maintain the Master's designation.

The (CESS / HHH) offers a certification for environmental services or housekeeping frontline workers and management teams to help them. This course is a prerequiste for the Certified Environmental Services Executive or Registered Environmentlal CServices Executive courses.

IEHA is proud to launch the Healthy Hospital and Hotel Housekeeping (HHH) Certification. This program expands, updates, and validates the expertise of those individuals leading and managing Environmental Services as well as the heart of the EVS or Housekeeping teams the Lead and Frontline Associates. IEHA’s certifications will expand the knowledge of one of the most important teams in any healthcare or hospitality setting and whose role is providing clean and healthy hospitals or hotels for the well-being of staff, patients, guests, and visitors. This is a required course for all participants seeking the CESE or RESE designation. If a particpant has a masters degree or higher from a University they will be exempt from the CESS course.

Who should enroll?
This certification will help you validate your expertise as a cleaning professional while ensuring a healthy environment for building occupants.
To successfully pass the online quizzes and final exam will require a score of 80% or higher to earn the CESS or HHH designation.
Affordable: $299.00 for members or $269.00 with 10 or more students. The cost for non-members is $399.00 or $369.00 for 10 more students which includes a complimentary short term membership. To take the additional Hospitality or Healthcare track(s) add $100 additional per track. Management cost per participants for members is $599 per member or $899 for non members and includes a complimentary short term membership.
Conveniently taught as follows: 1-day instructor-led training course which is taught virtually. The course is available as a self paced course via online through IEHA's Learning Management System (LMS). Training is also available as a 1 or 2 day instructor led course onsite at a facility of your choice by an IEHA certified trainer. The prerequisite to taking the Professional Education Credentialing Program is completion of the (CESS) course. It's required to prepare you for the PECP courses.
A comprehensive new IEHA training and certification program enables environmental service (EVS) professionals in hospital operating rooms to save lives by preventing, reducing, and ultimately eliminating surgical site infections and other hospital-acquired infections (HAIs).
The Certified Perioperative Cleaning Specialist Program is based on the AORN standards and your departmental (OR) policies and procedures. To provide onsite training, we require a minimum of 6 participants. Training will be conducted as a 1-2-day instructor led course onsite depending on the number of attendees. The training involves 2 hours of classroom instruction and 3 to 4 hours of hands on training in the facility perioperative areas. The participants must successfully pass a written exam with a score of 80% or higher to receive certification.
