EHT Editorial Guidelines

When submitting content for EHT:

  1. Don’t make your article or submission a sales pitch. EHT content is educational, so focus on a useful trend (with supporting data), application, how-to exposition, or company news useful to IEHA Members.
  2. Contributions should include a name, title, and company for the byline (except for company news which will be summarized and condensed by EHT staff.)
  3. Meet your deadline. (If you’re going be late, email the editor asap.)

Writers’ Guidelines:

Article submittals should be 1,500-2,000 words; we will edit according to space availability. Appropriate topics include: current trends and information in housekeeping, environmental services and related industries; environmental, safety and other regulations and law; management, employee recognition and training/development issues; and personal growth and wellness programs. Please avoid writing in the first-person approach (e.g., “I did this,” etc.) and writing from a commercial, product-only or sales perspective. Articles should be information- or knowledge-oriented rather than product or sales oriented. We offer a “Product Highlights” section each month specifically for product and service descriptions that is separate from our editorial. Please provide a contact name, company name, complete address, phone, email address and website for us to publish at the end of the article. We also need this information in case we have questions prior to publication.
