IEHA Launches Health Care Initiative at ISSA Show North America 2018

Westerville, OH, USA—September 25, 2018—IEHA, a Division of ISSA, proudly announces a new program initiative geared specifically to cleaning and maintenance professionals in health care facilities. Making its debut at IEHA’s 52nd Annual Conference and Convention—which is part of ISSA Show North America 2018, held October 29–November 1 in Dallas, TX—this highly specialized program enables facility health care professionals to maximize the value they bring to the processes of patient care and recovery.

The special health care program lineup includes:

  • Six educational sessions on Monday, October 29, including Microbiology 101 for an Effective Infection Control Program and The Brave New World of Environmental Services and Infection Control
  • A simulated operating room environment with cleaning and maintenance best-practice demonstrations
  • Complimentary blood pressure testing administered by registered nurses
  • Access to the ISSA Show North America exhibit floor, a comprehensive showcase with more than 700 leading providers showcasing the latest in cleaning products and innovation.

“Ultimately, IEHA is about providing a clean, safe, and sanitary environment that is crucial to patient care in a health care setting,” said IEHA Executive Director Michael Patterson.  “Our certified and registered members are trained to work hand-in-hand with nursing as a key link to infection control within their respective facilities, thus helping to save lives. Our programs underscore the critical role environmental services professionals play in maintaining health and preventing the spread of infection. To that end, the lineup we have prepared for our 2018 conference provides attendees an excellent mix of education, networking, and information on new products and technologies to help them excel at their job.”

In addition to the core programming, attendees will benefit from valuable networking opportunities to share experiences and learn from fellow environmental services professionals. Attendees can also interact with product experts from top manufacturing and distribution organizations from the commercial and residential cleaning industry.

The IEHA educational sessions take place on Monday, October 29. Additional programs, including blood pressure testing and operating and patient room cleaning demonstrations, will be held  in the IEHA booth (1357) on  the ISSA Show North America 2018 exhibit floor Tuesday through Thursday, October 30-November 1. All the IEHA sessions take place in the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center or the Sheraton Dallas Hotel.

Educational session abstracts and complete event details can be found on the ISSA Show North America 2018 website at www.issa.com/show. IEHA Conference and Convention registration is accessible from the IEHA website at www.ieha.org.
