Benefits of IEHA

There are many benefits to being a member of the Georgia Coastal Chapter of the International Executive Housekeepers Association such as networking; the annual conference and the monthly magazine, Executive Housekeeping Today. However, the one area that I benefit from the most is our local Chapter meetings. I attended a Chapter meeting some time ago that covered the basics of infection control and filed away the information for future reference. We recently had an infection control situation at our property that I had not encountered first hand before. I remembered that it was covered in the Chapter meeting training. I was able to reference the information and quickly determined what steps were needed from a housekeeping stand point. When my manager learned of the situation and had questions about how we should proceed I was able to answer his questions confidently and accurately due to the training I received at our Chapter meeting. I know that in the future I will continue to draw on the information covered in our meetings. I am grateful that the Georgia Coastal Chapter is dedicated in keeping us informed and up to date on topics that affect us in our day to day operations.
